Architecture

The Devil Is In the Details, is a phrase that has been used by many. It is meant to symbolise errors in planning that are seemingly minor, yet can raise themselves as large problems at a future point.
Ironically, reference to this phrase is better known through the reverse wording of, God is in the details, and it is here that the phrase originates. Of course, both can be true for it is the details of any particular item that finish it off or indeed finish it as a potential for success. It is very appropriate thus, that an architect is credited with first use of the phrase. Which architect, seems to depend upon where one reads. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe is widely acclaimed to be the first to use the phrase in reverse with the devil reference. However it is said to appear in use as far back as Michelangelo. In either case architecture, as an analogy for many facets of life, is an appropriate introduction to the concept, of the need to address every detail, as to cut corners enables errors that may return to cause great problems if unchecked and unresolved as they arise.
With this philosophy, we at SW Architectural Consultancy work to an ethos that whilst normally, it may well be that the Devil resides in the details, we work on your behalf to ensure that God takes up residence so that you may say of your building, that God is in the details.
